Italian fun at Princess Christian Care Home

Sightseeing in Italy

We were up bright and early on Wednesday 5 May at Princess Christian Care Home, so we could fit as much into our Italian Day as possible.

We decorated our Home and dressed up in Italian outfits to get into the spirit of the day!

Our first port of call was the Leaning Tower of Pisa which was just huge! This was followed by sampling some Italian treats at a local market, with tables heaving with local delicious pastries and cheeses. We were spoilt for choice and the traders were so kind and gave us free tasters at each stall! We ate so much that we weren’t sure if the gondola would hold our weight!

We also took time out to visit the Florence Duomo Santa Maria Del Fiore Catherdral, which was breathtaking! It certainly lives up to its name as one of the finest in the world.

After that we headed off to Venice where we all took trips in relaxing gondolas and one of our residents was very upset because she was expecting a handsome man to appear with a Cornetto!

We returned to our Cruise ship to rest our feet and enjoy some delicious Italian red wine.

A fantastic trip – see you in France next month!

Birthday celebrations

Our lovely resident Teresa in our Bisley Unit celebrated her birthday recently and had a visit from her husband and son, who came laden with flowers and gifts galore!

She was so happy to see them and really enjoyed the delicious birthday cake made by our talented catering team.

Many happy returns Teresa!
