Surrey Heath Volunteer Award Winner
Sylvia Stock is the wonderful wife of one of Princess Christian’s much-loved residents. Sylvia is a valued advocate for the Home an avid campaigner for Dementia care and all-round awareness of the disease.
A regular helpful face at Princess Christian, and recently to other Nellsar Homes, Sylvia is a published author. Her most recent books tell a heart-warming, honest and informative story about Sylvia’s husband Brian’s Dementia diagnosis and moving into a Care Home; “The Rocky Road of Naughty Neurons: Our Journey with Young Onset Alzheimer’s Disease”and “The Rocky Road of 24/7 Care: Sylvia’s Ups and Downs and Positive Learnings Along the Way”
Sylvia was recently nominated for an award at the Surrey Heath Volunteer Awards – under the category of Inspirational Volunteer – and is delighted to have been informed that she won an award. Sylvia looks forward to receiving the honourable award at the presentation ceremony at Camberley Theatre on Tuesday 11 December, supported by members of the Princess Christian team.
