On Friday 7 May we celebrated VE Day here at Princess Christian Care Home – and what a great day it was!
The rain held off as we hosted three parties for our three Units in our large marquee outside.
All our residents were greeted by our Recreation and Well-Being Team and our wonderful singer Najwa, who were all dressed up for the occasion! We had two soldiers, two land girls, plus an evacuee along with his own gas mask box.
Our ladies and gents enjoyed dancing and singing along to well known songs; some of our residents even performed solos themselves – well done Barry and Mick! Also our new resident Jan was queen of the dance floor, which was wonderful to see!
We served scones with jam, cream and fresh strawberries, plus old fashioned lemonade and pots of tea.
Everyone had fun with our ‘Pin the cigar on Winston Churchill‘ game, which our residents were all very good at!
Such a brilliant day for everyone to enjoy.
