Princess Christian Care Home residents enjoy a busy social calendar

We’ve been enjoying our new activity ‘Helping Hands’ at Princess Christian Care Home, in our Home as well as in our gardens. Our residents really enjoy helping out and doing tasks; as one lady said “It makes me feel so useful“.

Our ladies and gents have been to some wonderful tea dances and had a super time learning new dance steps as well as enjoying the tea and cakes. They have also enjoyed visiting the cathedral in Guildford for monthly coffee concerts and we all really enjoyed seeing the Rock Choir.

Singers Phil, Charlie, Billy, and Ollie have provided some brilliant entertainment, us as well as a new singer Lorraine who comes in to us weekly. She did an amazing Halloween concert for us and her young son also sang for us, much to the delight of our residents. He has promised to come and sing some carols for the residents at Christmas, so we’re looking forward to that.

We met up with our Penpal children last week, which was super. Everyone had a brilliant time and the children loved the goodie bags that the residents had made up for them. We are delighted to have been invited to visit them at their school in December.

On Monday 11 November we had a Remembrance service here at our Home, with a singer dressed as a soldier performing wartime songs.

Our Cooking Club has been as busy as ever, making cinnamon swirls and cheese quiches recently – very tasty they were too!

And finally…we have already started making Christmas cards and we are looking forward to our Christmas party here at Princess Christian.
