Princess Christian Care Home welcomes special guests for Remembrance

We’ve been very busy bees here at Princess Christian Care Home, decorating our lounges with Remembrance poppies, as well as making Christmas tree decorations, all ready for the approaching festive season.

On Friday 11 November we were very privileged to welcome some special visitors. First we met Lance Corporal Tony Flynn from the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards who was a coffin bearer for the late Queen Elizabeth II. He held a lovely meet and greet with our delighted residents who all enjoyed chatting with him. Tony is married to our very own Resident Liaison Hayley and he kindly posed for photos and brought his huge hat for our residents to try on. Even our Home cat Totty made herself comfortable on his lap!

After lunch we had a visit from Woking Mayor Saj Hussain as well as Woking MP Jonathan Lord who spent time with our residents and sat and chatted with Tony too. Our Mayor said what a honour it was to have met with him and what a remarkable young man he was – we all agree!

After tea and cake we enjoyed singer Vick entertaining us with some great songs. Our ladies and gents sang along and some danced too (including our Manager Mario who loves to boogie!). At the end Vick played the Last Post on his trumpet which was very moving.

What a wonderful day.
