On Thursday 27 October we celebrated our special resident Joyce’s 102nd birthday here at Princess Christian Care Home.
It started off with ‘hair and makeup’ and then she had a lovely visit from her daughter-in-law Jenny.
After lunch we took Joyce outside to see all the lovely animals brought to our Home via a mobile farm. We chose this as Joyce is an animal lover, with a particular fondness for horses.
She and our other residents had some wonderful cuddles with all the animals and then she had a surprise visit from the Mayor of Woking who came to wish her many happy returns of the day! He asked her the secret of a long life and she replied “Have fun and enjoy yourself!”.
We all sang ‘Happy birthday’ to our wonderful birthday girl and she enjoyed the beautiful birthday cake made by our Kitchen Team, sharing it with staff and other residents.
She said what a wonderful birthday she had had and thanked us all – what a star!
