On Thursday 21 September we celebrated World Alzheimer’s Day here at Princess Christian Care Home.
World Alzheimer’s Day, which takes place every 21 September, is a global effort to raise awareness and challenge the stigma around Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia.
Our residents have been very busy making lots of items to sell during the day – key rings, picture hangers and bookmarks, as well as beautiful bracelets. They also had a fun time tie dying hair scrunchies and our Namaste coordinator Maria made a tray of delicious cookies. We displayed all these wonderful items in our reception, along with our very colourful balloon arch.
In the afternoon, the talented Kuran came in to sing for us and our residents had a great time singing and dancing along.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated money throughout the day and well done to our fantastic residents for making such lovely items.
