On Wednesday 29 March we held our fun filled ‘Derby Dash’ here at Princess Christian Care Home!
Our residents threw an inflatable dice to make the riders and their mounts move forward on our race track.
Our Activity Team kicked off the first race with Liz and Black Beauty taking the win! We then had our residents Bruce, Carol and John take part – Bruce won riding Red Rum, followed closely by Carol on Chardonnay and John eventually crossed the line as Black Beauty stopped off to munch the grass!
The third race was our ‘Horse Pulled Chariots’ race. This was a two horse race between Wendy and Len; it ended up in a photo finish with Len coming first on Red Rum.
The final race of the day was between our staff jockeys who were very competitive! All three crossed the line at the same time so they all received rosettes.
Everyone had great fun and we’re already planning our Grand National in April!
