Princess Christian Care Home re-awarded Investors in People Gold

Everyone at Princess Christian Care Home is celebrating after we were once again awarded a prestigious Investors in People accolade for demonstrating excellence in staff development and support, a distinction we have held since 2016.

Only 268 of the UK’s 17,600 Care Homes have an Investors in People (IIP) accreditation – 33 of which only received it for the first time this year. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC, Princess Christian has now received the IIP Gold 3 Year Accreditation for the third time – a unique honour recognised across the globe.

IIP is one of the leading bodies for workplace assessments in the world, setting the standard for people management. It strives to help businesses realise the potential of their staff, improve standards and gain the accreditation to prove it. Since its creation in 1991, IIP has helped more than 50,000 organisations around the world improve, using their Accreditation Framework to boost working culture and communication, increase employee engagement and encourage game-changing leadership.

For organisations to be awarded the IIP Gold accreditation, they must pass sets of criteria which reflect their workplace culture, essential skills and effective structures.

Of the total 176 UK-wide organisations accredited at Gold level in 2022, only 5% were Care Homes and Princess Christian is one of the nine Care Homes to realise this status this year.

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Princess Christian Care Home for this prestigious honour. Gold accreditation on ‘We Invest in People’ is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and places them in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”

Commenting on the achievement, Mario Taherian, Registered Manager said: “I’m delighted Princess Christian Care Home has once again been reaccredited with such a prestigious honour. Less than 0.004% of UK Care Homes are recognised with such an accolade, and a tiny fraction have achieved IIP Gold accreditation in 2022. So to retain this since 2016 is something we’re all extremely proud of. There isn’t a greater honour to highlight our commitment to demonstrating excellence in the development of our staff – a core principle for everyone at Nellsar.”
