Princess Christian Care Home residents and families love their new pet corner

Enjoying our pets

We have worked very hard at Princess Christian Care Home to get our pets all ready for meeting residents and their families.

Our Activity Team members, plus Carol’s husband Glen, have worked during evenings and weekends to turn our old chicken run into a bunny run, along with another shed, to give our energetic bunnies more room to run around in. They are very happy bunnies who love to hop now!

Our Guinea pigs have also been given a much bigger enclosure, as well as some fun hidey-holes. Meanwhile, our chickens have been on their swing and are enjoying their homemade dust bath which seems to be Saffron’s favourite place!

It’s been fantastic to see our residents and their families meeting all the pets at the weekend and we are welcoming two new Guineas too – a boy and a girl. Our residents will be choosing a food-themed name for these new arrivals, so watch this space!

A new arrival

Last Tuesday we were delighted to pick up our new Home cat from our local RSPCA centre. He is a very laid back pussy cat and enjoys lots of tummy rubs and strokes!

At the moment he is residing in our Activity office for a two-week settling in period before being introduced to our Princess Christian family; we hope he will be as happy here as our beloved cat Tottie was. Welcome Buttons!
