We are extremely proud of our Home Manager Nisha Leo and her recent Highly Commended achievement at the National Finals of the Great British Care Awards. Nisha has been nationally recognised as one of the outstanding and inspirational figures to follow in social care, after her recognition in ‘The Care Frontline Leaders Award’ category.
Nisha, who took home the coveted accolade in last year’s regional award ceremony, began her career at Nellsar as a Night Bank Nurse and has since been promoted to Senior Nurse, Lead Nurse, Deputy Manager and now Home Manager. She’s played an integral role in solidifying Nellsar’s standing as a major player in the Surrey social care sector and has been fundamental in helping support the care group’s commitment to maintaining a strong family culture.
Having won the regional awards in November last year, Nisha qualified for the national awards, where she ultimately finished runner-up against a plethora of outstanding individuals working in frontline care across the UK.
The awards judging panel recognised Nisha as “A teacher as well as a leader, always wanting to push individuals to become the best they can be and find new ways in order to make the job easier for others.”
Discussing the achievement, Nisha, said: “I’m extremely proud to be recognised at the Great British Care Awards for a second consecutive year. To have made the final shortlist once again and to feature alongside so many outstanding carers throughout the country is something I do not take for granted. I’d personally like to thank the amazing team put together at Princess Christian Care Centre, who consistently ensure the delivery of outstanding care, while making sure our residents are as safe, comfortable and happy as possible. Without them, none of this would be possible.”

Now in its 14th year, the Great British Care Awards is a series of regional events throughout the UK that aims to celebrate excellence across the care sector. The purpose of the awards is to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
