We have been very busy here at Princess Christian Care Home for Easter!
Our lovely residents had great fun making bunnies from cloths and ribbon, and chocolate eggs, which they put on sale to raise money for our sensory garden. They also made some delicious easter cakes which we all enjoyed.
On Good Friday we held our Easter party which was a huge success. It was the first Easter party we’ve hosted in three years and it was so wonderful to be able to welcome families back into our Home to celebrate with us and their loved ones.
We welcomed performer Andy to sing for us, who got lots of us singing along to our favourite tunes. We also had an easter craft table for visiting children and it was so lovely to see and hear them playing balloon games in our courtyard.
Our super catering team once again laid on a spectacular buffet enjoyed by all and our Activities Team ran a huge raffle with prizes ranging from Easter eggs to bottles of fizz. We also held a residents’ raffle where we handed out toiletries and gifts, which they were delighted with!
Our Pet Therapy Corner was open, with bags of chicken feed made up ready to feed the spice girls (our chickens) which our residents and visiting children enjoyed, and everyone enjoyed meeting our Guinea pigs and rabbits and taking photos.
The Easter bunny (aka Olivia!) visit all our Units with bundles of chocolate goodies for all our residents on Easter Sunday. They were very happy to see her and some even gave her a hug.
What a wonderful weekend, full of celebrations and smiling faces!
