Princess Christian Care Home celebrates International Nurses Day

We celebrated International Nurses Day this week at Princess Christian Care Home and our Catering Team made a delicious cake and doughnuts to mark the occasion! Mario awarded all our amazing Nurses a special certificate and box of chocolates; we are very proud of our Nurses who work so hard here at Princess Christian.

Our Recreation and Well-Being staff have had great fun decorating trollies for Recreation and Well-Being Manager Viv’s ‘Tart Up Your Trolley’ competition and our residents have enjoyed helping out with painting, sticking and cutting out. They have especially enjoyed having photos taken with the cut-out seaside boards. Great fun!

Skype calls have been putting smiles on our residents’ faces, as they really enjoy talking to their loved ones, and we have been sending photos to families so they can see what our residents have been getting up to.

VE Day was a great success at our Home and our residents helped prepare all the decorations, especially the Union Jack bunting. One of our team dressed up in a soldier’s uniform and took photos with residents and they enjoyed having scones, cakes and pots of tea in the afternoon. Of course we played lots of music, especially Vera Lynn songs which residents loved joining in with.

We have had some lovely colouring from our residents too, thanking the staff for all they do, as well as lots of colourful rainbows around our Home.

Now the weather has improved we shall be tackling the courtyard gardens and planting ready for the summer; this is always a very popular activity enjoyed by many of our ladies and gents.
