Here at Princess Christian Care Home we have introduced Doll Therapy as part of our therapy sessions with our Well-Being Manager Maria and this has proved to be very popular amongst our residents.
Our dolls resemble a plaything but serve a purpose much more than entertainment for our residents; many people with dementia are comforted and soothed by holding a doll or soft toy. These dolls provide a physical, tactile tool for managing anxiety and other emotional difficulties.
It’s been wonderful to see so much nurturing and so many cuddles going on in our Home!
