Basketball
We had a great basketball session this week in our Bisley Unit here at Princess Christian Care Home. What a talented group of residents we have; our ladies certainly gave our gents a run for their money!
Our lovely Pat was so happy to have won, she gave herself a big cheer! Everyone is looking forward to our summer Olympics…roll on the sunshine!
Pets
As the weather has warmed up, we brought our tortoise Banana in to meet our residents. We had a very positive response from our lovely ladies and gents; who knew that so many had had tortoises as pets when they were younger!
Candy, one of our Guinea pigs, was very popular too and had treats fed to him as well as cuddles. It’s so wonderful to see the engagement and affection our residents have for our wonderful pets.
Fish fun
We introduced a new fishing game to our dear residents last week, and what fun they had!
There were fish, as well as ducks, floating in buckets which our residents had to catch with their rods, which caused lots of laughter. We had a few cheat moves, not mentioning any names!
Snakes and ladders
We have been playing lots of giant snakes and ladders with our ladies and gents and we have been having teams from each of our Units playing against each other, which is great fun. This is always a popular activity and there’s always lots of laughter to be heard as we take it in turns to roll the dice.
Buttons
Our new Home cat Buttons has been with us a month now and has settled in very well. He has found his favourite spot in the garden where he likes to sunbathe and has enjoyed lots of cuddles with our residents.
